My Fellow Steemians!
I joined Steemit because, for the first time in a long, long time, I see a thriving community that is having fun and is engaging. I want to have lots of discussions about Bitcoins, cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and the future we're forging together.
I love the fact that, by the very nature of Steemit's platform, people are once again engaging in interesting discussions where each and every one of us has something to say and one's voice can be heard. For the first time, I'm able to engage in a meaningful way that also pays back for time invested and conversations struck up with others.
Today, I'm launching a Bitcoin trivia contest with the aim of meeting many other Steemians investing in Cryptocurrencies, whom I sincerely hope to have many, many fruitful discussions in the near and far future. I can think of no better way to have fun and meet lot's of new people at the same time.
HOW DOES THE CONTEST WORK?
The contest will be ongoing and frequently engaging your wits. The questions could be related anything in the cryptocurrency realm -- not just Bitcoin. Sometimes it will be an easy question while other times it could be something you'll have to go digging for the answer.
For example: "What is the name of the author attributed for writing Bitcoin's Whitepaper?"
Along with your answer, you're free to express your opinions and thoughts on the matter as well as commenting on others, but, mind you, always with respect towards your fellow Steemians. If one's comment is considered to have broken the code of etiquette (racist comment, disrespectful, etc) will not be eligible for any award. Keep it light, keep it fun.
Of course, unlike at your local pub's trivia night contest where you are barred from Googling the answer or calling someone to ask, you can blatantly cheat and just read others' comments to find the answer. In the spirit of the contest, I will simply convince myself that you either genuinely knew the answer or went out and found the answer yourself. One of the fun aspects of a contest like this is discovering new facts about cryptocurrencies that you may never have even thought about before.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
To participate you just need to do the following:

- Upvote this post
- If you resteem, your award is doubled, netting you maximum reward pool!
HOW MUCH IS THE AWARD?
- The award is determined by the value of the post for each question's total earned SBD as reported by https://steemstats.com
- Reward pool is 100% of SBD gained from this post and based on fulfilling above conditions.
If you aren't excited yet, you should be, as this will be the easiest way to grow your wallet in size!
WHO WINS?
Anyone who follows the participation rules and answers the question correctly is entered into the lottery to win. Your name will be chosen at random amongst the pool of all that answered correctly.
Contest Rules Version
This is version 1.0 of the Official Bitcoin Trivia Contest Rules (and version will be noted when question is posted).
The contest rules are subject to change to make the contest more engaging and fun, or to clarify anything that's confusing. The rules as written when the question is published will stand for that post, but subsequent questions will follow changes announced prior to the next question being published.
WHEN DOES THE CONTEST START?
The contest will begin within the week and with the first question posted. You have one week to reply to the question of the day. After one week, the post will be closed and the winners will be announced in the new post of the day. So, if the first question is posted on Monday, February 20th, I will announce the winners the following Monday on February 27th and so on.
I will try to always post questions about the same time each day (generally expected to be between 10AM and Noon Eastern Standard Time).
This is the first contest I have ever organized online and I hope it proves fun for everyone and we all get to know one another through even the simplest of engagement! Above all else, let's have fun and may the FREE SBD for participating flow mightily!
