Steem blockchain social media - A brief introduction
Introduction
If you are a blogger, you probably earn money from your blogs in different ways. If you are on social media like Facebook and others, you have fun with friends when you post to your timeline, people like your posts and write comments. Whether it is on any social media or as a blogger, people create content but earn little or nothing from their efforts. Then enters blockchain technology and a lot of things changed.
What is Steem?
Steem is the cryptocurency that powers a blockchain social network where people earn by creating content. By signing up and writing on their blog page, bloggers and content creators earn steem cryptocurrency. Unlike the centralized content publishing [latforms where the founders take all the funds, steem empowers content creators to have a share in the funds generated from content creation.
How does it work
The project developers of steem created an interface to enable users interact with the steem blockchain. The interface can be accessed at https://steemit.com/. Anyone with email or phone number can sign up account. Its completely free. Third party developers have also created other interfaces through which the steem blockchain can be accessed. Nice write up! Very simple to understand and get started.
There's more to Steem than being just a blogger. People spend their whole time here playing like Steemmonsters, magic dice etc while others only use dApps like Actifit and Steemhunt.
