The answer is number 8 - if the overall average is 89 and 5 of the 6 tests were above 90, one test would have to be slightly lower than the other 5 to have 89 overall average... Or I could be totally wrong and not have a clue... Steem on...
If all scored 100 then 500 + 35 is the low end score for average of 89
If all scored 90 then 450 + 85 is the high score for average of 89.
Any combination of scores between 90 and 100 would give the results between answer 3 and 8 thus
Answers are: 3,4,5,6,7,8
The lowest possible value, #8 would equal 89.16 - so yes, I am wrong if there are no fractions permitted...
I believe averages are rounded off.
Sorry I replied to your post by accident with my answer but I just meant to reply to the math quiz. My mistake I was not questioning your work just adding mine but doing it on a phone app I sometimes gets mixed up.
