Welcome to the Thank You Economy a fun and engaging project where we try to promote a sense of thankfulness. I really enjoy hosting the contest as I meet new people and awesome communities every week.
In last weeks contest we gave away 5 shares of SBI and we had over 50 comments, a total of 12 Participants! and 17 Engagement Bonus Entries.
I just want to Thank Everyone again who has been participating, and resteeming the posts. A special shout out to the @team-cn community you guys are doing an awesome job supporting users here on steem, and this contest....
What is The Thank You Economy contest all about?(simplified version)
An Attitude of Gratitude - The Thank You Economy is simply a way to say thank you to someone who has helped you, influenced you or blessed you in some way in the Steem community. It can be tough getting started on Steemit, and the people who have been here for a while realize that. I could see community members helping out everywhere but what can new people do to show appreciation back? Not much....
That's where the idea for the Thank You Economy contest arose, I wanted to do more to say thank you.
Maybe I can do more. I thought there might be others who wanted to do the same, not to mention it's fun.
Just saying thank you to someone opens up all kinds of opportunities to interact with each other. YOU CAN THANK ANYONE YOU WOULD LIKE....

Earlier this year, my wife underwent a fairly extensive surgery necessitating a three-day stay in the hospital. We live in the US, and while we have medical insurance, we hadn't yet met our deductible for the calendar year. Our out-of-pocket expenses amounted to several thousand dollars.
We were able to set up a payment plan with the hospital, but in order to do so, they needed a percentage of our balance up front. We had some money set back, but not enough to cover what they were asking without cutting deeply into our current paychecks.
Enter @blewitt, a guy I've never met IRL. Knowing he was on a STEEM-buying rampage, I messaged him and asked if he'd be interested in buying some of mine, as I'd been powering down in anticipation of needing to sell it off to make up the difference. Without even hesitating, he asked how much I was looking to sell. I told him, we agreed on a price, and in a matter of a couple of weeks, I had the funds sitting in my Paypal account. The next day, my wife and I were able to make that starter payment and buy our groceries with what was left over.
A lot of crappy stuff happened in my life in 2018, with medical problems, the loss of a beloved pet, and more. But Chris, whose hand I've never gotten the opportunity to shake because he lives some eleven hours away from me, unhesitatingly jumped in to help when the chips were down. Without him, without Steemit, I'm not sure what my wife and I would have done (except run up the balance on our credit card).
If anyone deserves to be rewarded for his assistance and good will, it's him. Thank you, Chris. And Merry Christmas.
Wow, That is an awesome story about an awesome guy. @blewitt is a pretty cool guy and always trying to build up the platform, other people, and his account, but he really wants to grow the community. Plus he's a comic junkie which is cool...

It's always great to have friends like that. Everyone gets into a bad mood sometimes, especially in the crypto world when the prices are like this. Plus she has some pretty interesting stuff posted and is rocking it with the plank contest.

Great choice. It looks like they really have their finger on the pulse of steem and know what is going on. It's always nice to have someone helping navigate all the crazy stuff that goes on with steem and the various Dapps and projects...

Hey sir @janton, I'm doing well. Busy as always. Actually being pretty lazy for Christmas, we now have all of our festivities over, and just got a nice afternoon nap.
How about you guys any amazing Christmas plans?
howdy sir coinsandchains! I miss being able to talk with you more but I know you had to make up for loss time and finances. You still feel good about steemit's chances and steem's chances?
We didn't do anything. Mrs. J worked last night and works tonight and tomorrow night from 6pm through 6 am so thats' why. Don't have any family around here anyway so her hours didn't affect any family gatherings. She wanted to hours for the overtime. lol. so all is good.
I do miss the conversations too. It gets pretty boring around here sometimes just working...
Well, I sat in on a meeting that some of the big wigs on the platform had. They are making plans to keep the platform going in the event that steem inc flops. Trying to get a little balance between the dev/programmer types and the business types. That is going to be one of the keys getting mass adoption, that and a social outreach person.
That's how you get away with being on steem all night Mrs J works night shift... I used to work all the holidays I could when I was hourly at the hospital. Working on the holidays I would get double time and an half.... 8 hour holiday pay plus the holiday rate time and a half.
howdy sir coinsandchains! holy moly, double time and a half! dang, no wonder the medical bills are so high. lol. that's nuts but it's great to get. she just started this shift last night so we'll see how it goes. Everyone I talk to, or at least 95 % are in North America so staying up all night wouldn't do me much good.

I'm glad that we could keep going even if steeminc disolved steemit but I guess unless the price of steem goes up it won't make alot of difference.
