The idiomatic story contest
Sean was at death’s door after his heart attack,
Even though I thought he was too young for death to knock on his door.
He looked as pale as a ghost,
His wife grew pale by the day like she had seen a ghost
No one thought he could be back on his feet
As the back of his feet were permanently glued to the sheets
Before we knew it, he was as fit as a fiddle
He was declared a fit fiddle player at the spring music tournament by the surprised judges.
He has been in the best of health for many years now
Wealth can’t beat health at its best.
Analysis: Sean was dying but miraculously, he recovered. No one should give up, there is always hope for the living no matter how bad the situation is.
