Artstorm Contest # 74 Day 2 - Your Country Week - Theme - My Country's Music and Dance
I present the dance of La Burriquita dance is practiced by men, women and children, who usually wear a white shirt accompanied by a skirt of bright colors that falls on a burra made with different materials but usually it is felt. The dance of the burriquita is one of the most important cultural events that make up part of the cultural heritage of Venezuela.
It is a dance where the performer is assembling a frame that simulates being a donkey, the character is a man dressed as a woman, with skirt, blouse and hat with long crinejas.
With his dance he imitates the jumps, capers and corcoveos of the animal, the dance is of free interpretation. Although this tradition is of European origin, it has been taking characteristics typical of Venezuelan miscegenation. In the Dance of the Burriquita, three artistic genres are combined: music, dance and theater, because it is a pantomime. In addition, it has an eye-catching and colorful like no other.
