IF I WERE .... A #POWERHOUSECREATIVES CONTEST : take me to the clouds

I would like to take you back to the time I was 7 or 8 years old and living in a small village near Rotterdam. Near the airport of Rotterdam. I always would say when we saw a plain come over to my parents :
I WANT TO BE A ✈️ FLIGHT-ATTENDENT !!!
The airplane was a trigger for me. And Untill I was 19 I had that dream. And at that time Schiphol AirPort was my extension to the childhood dream.
To fly to every exotic corner, every cold country, to speak different languages fluently, to see places I only saw on tv. I was dreaming about walking across the airport in that blue skirt and with that black flight attendant trolley. And with that great hat and scarf from our national airline KLM. cause that was the ultimate dream. Emirates would have been a better one but I know that now and didn’t back than.
I studied but by the time I was finished there was no need for new stewardesses. So the dream was placed on hold. Than I found a great job and became a mum. Nowadays when the tv commercials with the white swans and the blue suited stewardesses is on it still puts a smile on my face.
Just as flying still is a great hobby , this is a picture I took last week while flying back from Genua Italy. And among my girlfriends and in my hockey team there a quite a few stwewardesses and they tell me girl it’s just a job. That opened my eyes. It’s great to have dreams but always follow the path life has in mind for you. A job is a great job when you love it !

I made an internship at Ryanair once... but their job offer was so lousy that I didn't sign the contract. 😂

No, it wasn't. I was unemployed at the time and exploring several options.

ah yes! To take to the sky! I had that dream for awhile but it didn't last long. Seems like you were making it a reality - unfortunate that therre was not positions open!

I have a friend who is a steward on private flights and he just loves it, particularly when they get extended stays overseas. I can certainly understand the appeal!

@brittandjosie - I had a friend who was an airline stewardess for awhile, she gave it up, said it just a boring old job after awhile, and became a teacher instead. Grass is always greener right?
