Ade read these lines with excitement, finally an opportunity has come. He looked at the deadline again; March 30th. I have enough time he said.
His mother was hospitalized, she needed a kidney transplant. This would cost #350,000, he knew he'd get the money from the writing competition, all he needed to do was do a research on the topic; it wasn't something he was familiar with. He had to read some materials to acquaint himself with the topic. But for some reason, he was relaxed about the whole thing. He procrastinated till about a week to the deadline, that was when he became very serious, reading loads of material. He finally wrote it and submitted few hours to the deadline. When the results where published, his name didn't come out, not even among the first and second runner-ups. Since he needed the money badly for his mother's operation, he had to sell the family land.

If only he had been more serious with the research, he wouldn't have gone through the trouble of selling off the land. A stitch in time saves nine.
