When the competition closed, the last block in the blockchain was still quite a bit below 14180000. To show all contestants that it would be a fair draw, I sent out a message (with the $1 each) stating the draw would commence on the modulus 16 of the witness signature of block 14180000, the first block number dividable by 10,000 on august 1st. A few days ago I decided this would be fair way of doing a draw that should provide mutual trust in a fair draw. https://steemit.com/steemit/@pibara/using-steemd-com-to-run-a-lottery-type-competition-on-steemit . While @doughtaker won the draw, my two messages to the other two contestants contained a total of $2.5 per person meant as consolation price in appreciation of their (your) input.

Thank you! I look forward to reading more of your work @pibara! Congratulations @doughtaker!

Thank you very much. EPROM was a good read. I'm looking forward to reading your other works when I have more spare time to do so.

Or how about a lottery where I don't upvote comments @croupierbot. A 0.005 lottery between @marcelmaatkamp @bigpanda and @nice2share ?
