problem with cetralized power generation and it's solution Eloncity

Electricity is one of the commodities we always use, as technology progresses it’s expected more demand for electricity and more power plants needed to build. Most of us still using old power grid for our electricity which is centralize and expensive. Centralized generation is a term used for mass scale power generation of electricity in big facilities in a centralized way. The distribution of electricity is through power stations or transmission network then it will go to the power grind finally to the consumers. With supply line that long and manpower to build and maintain it, consumers are paying more than the actual cost to produce an electricity. Ignoring the cost the biggest disadvantage of centralized generation is the environmental impact it does on the environment. A power plant like coal can cause air pollution, heat pollution caused by water turbines can damage the ecosystem surrounding water because of warmer water, cutting of trees because of power lines needed for power transmission. Power plants cause a lot of casualties, according to American Lung Association twenty-four thousand people in the U.S. die last 2010 cause by air pollutants that come for coal power plant. It is better now after some regulation law had passed but it only reduced to seven thousand five hundred deaths each year. Fukushima nuclear power plant became a headline last 2011 when a tsunami hit the power plant and cause a nuclear meltdown.

Knowing the problems from a centralized power grid I found an interesting project that’s already had a working product that may solve these issues on a mass scale is adopted. Introducing Eloncity. Eloncity focuses on community solutions for a renewable and cheap source of electricity and if the community shared the project then electricity it is virtually free.

The Eloncity model uses community-based decentralized power generation and the power grid, the community can share the cost of the equipment’s (solar panels, wind turbine) or exchange energy cost thru the local market. The model uses a renewable source of energy that can easily install like solar panels and wind turbines.
To give motivation to the investor of batteries for storing electricity they are rewarded with Eloncity Token which can be exchanged in a global marketplace for energy products or sell for other currencies. All transaction is recorded to the blockchain to monitor prices so that community can see or audit on how effective the model and compare services by other energy providers. Because the electricity is created within the community transmission cost is almost nonexistent and labor is free electricity cost is expected to be less. The investor of the equipment’s and batteries is not only helping the community with cheaper energy but also the environment.

The Team.
The team of Eloncity composes of well-experienced individual’s one of them is the founder of Eloncity and the former Alibaba employee who led Alibaba cloud computing data center Andy Li. They also got the United Nations’ Clean Energy Ambassador Dai Zhen as one of the advisors.
