RE: Entry for Constrained Writing Contest 17: James' Trip
Very good and very sad story! I enjoyed the read, and you made it very possible for the reader to immerse himself into the character (James).
Though, what is the thing your character(s) learned here?
That you shouldn't allow for your family members to become strangers to you?
He learned that there is freedom in letting go, whether it be his daughter, his job, or his fear of his ex wife. My hope was that he'd learn value in his own life and give it another try after his trip, but... That's for the reader to decide.
Ah, yes, letting go of all worries, and coupled with the of hallucinogens can be quite an eye opener. Might help the person see the world from a different angle.
Thank you for this clarification! :D
