You may have heard about conspiracy theories. Well I don't believe all of them or will I most of them.

However, I recently found a conspiracy theory going around here. YES I mean here on steemit platform based on the Steem blockchain.

What is conspiracy theory?

A conspiracy theory is an explanation of an event or situation that invokes an unwarranted conspiracy, generally one involving an illegal or harmful act carried out by government or other powerful actors. Source

Conspiracy theories often produce hypotheses that contradict the prevailing understanding of history or simple facts. Source

That is a straightforward definition. I will go for the second explanation of conspiracy theory. This is the exact type that is being passed around on steemit.

Individuals tend to associate an occurrence with another. Either they are related or not is not of concern. What they crave for is popularity so the theory can garner supports and have a stronghold in people minds.

Conspiracy theories examples

There are lots of conspiracy theories flying around. I will try to highlight some of them.

The Aaron Ramsey theory.

We also have the Pope conspiracy theory. It is a three in 1 theory involving Liverpool- Royal wedding - The Pope.

1981 English prince gets married, Liverpool win European Cup, the pope gets shot.
2005 English prince gets married, Liverpool win European Cup, pope dies. Source

Well I think the pope was saved because Real Madrid won the trophy. Long live the Pope

Now the Big one. We have our own theory. I will call it the @ned theory.

There is a theory flying around that STEEM price drops every time @ned makes a steemit post

When you look at @ned blog, he rarely make personal posts. However, recently @ned made 4 personal posts in the last 7 days or so. He has received praises from the community, with users telling him that it was a good move to update his blog with personal posts sometimes.

The conspiracy theories are not having any of this, They are relating the dip in STEEM price to @ned blog updates.

This is awkward as we all know that, it has nothing to do with the price of STEEM, but let us look at the funny part of this theory.

@ned posts and STEEM price dips. Let's give the theorists something to cheer about. @ned can you stay off your blog for a while.
