MKMURDER: Assassination of CIA anthrax scientist Frank Olson

Frank Rudolph Olson was an American bacteriologist, biological warfare scientist, and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee who worked at Camp Detrick. Olson's colleagues would be deeply entrenched throughout the MKULTRA program, including Project Artichoke, Project Bluebird, and MKNAOMI. As a biological warfare scientist Olson would be tasked by the CIA with developing aerosolized anthrax which likely was to have some use in the MKULTRA program.(1)

However, in 1953 he was covertly dosed with LSD by his CIA supervisor and, nine days later on November 28 plunged to his death from the window of a New York City hotel room. Olson would be recognized as an unwitting victim of LSD experimentation, but his death would be officially deemed a suicide. However, later investigations conducted by Olson's son would conclude evidence from the autopsy to be "rankly and starkly suggestive of homicide."(2) Bruising would be found on Frank Olson's chest prior to his fall which indicate that he was almost certainly pushed.

Olson's murder would become an interesting subplot to the ongoing unsolved mystery of who sent anthrax to government employees after the attacks of 9/11. Eric Olson believed his fathers death had something to do with his research on anthrax. This is interesting to point out, as DynCorp sister-company DynPort Vaccine Company would be implicated in the unauthorized sale of anthrax to Saudi Arabia in 2002.(3)

In this tangled web of lies it may yet be revealed as to DynCorp's possible relation with the anthrax scare may hint at an even darker possibility that DynCorp may have been involved in and possibly continued some aspects of MKULTRA.

We may not know who killed Frank Olson or why, but somebody does.
