Inconvenient Truths - Al Gore & Laurie David Caught Being Gross Hypocrites On Climate Change!

in #conspiracy7 years ago (edited)

Al Gore and Laure David were both intimately associated with the oscar winning film An Inconvenient Truth but have been caught out wasting fossil fuels in ways that most of us could never even dream of. Gore by using many times the national average electricity and gas consumption for his mansion and David for extravagant trips in private jets.

When you look at the way these two individuals are preaching that climate change needs to be tackled by lifestyle change their use of fossil fuels in their private lives makes them at the best terrible hypocrites and at the worst corporate marketing shills.

A Very Convenient Lie!

When the film and Inconvenient truth came out I was suspect of it immediately. I'm not inspired when I see a corrupt politician who lives in luxury preaching change to the world. This man has never been poor or hungry in his life. What does he really know except how to represent corporate interests.

I am not denying that the world is getting hotter. I know that the world is getting hotter because I have felt it in my lifetime. I have also witnessed the changing weather patterns over the last twenty years around the world. Things are changing there is no doubt about it.

An Inconvenient Truth brought in $49.8 million in the box office and was clearly biased yet purported to be the last word on climate change. This commercial profit making film was shown to school children and university students as part of many curriculums. For those of you who have ready my posts on education and political corruption you will know that I am not surprised by behaviour like this but what are these teachers and curriculum builders really thinking? They can't get their own facts together and have to rely on Al Gore to tell them the truth?

The British High Court ruled that the movie had many key scientific errors. Judge Michael Burton ruled that the errors were "in the context of alarmism and exaggeration" to support the global warming narrative of the movie. The criticism came after the unsuccessful attempt by a school governor to stop the government's plan to show the documentary in more than 3,500 secondary schools.

The judge stated that the film contained "serious scientific inaccuracies, political propaganda and sentimental mush" and ruled it a "political" film. He indicated that schools wishing to show the film to their children must warn of the film's bias.

Judge Rules There Are Many Errors (Convenient Lies?) In The Film

Here are some of the highlights from the errors cited by the judge:

  1. Mr Gore claims that a sea-level rise of up to 20 feet would be caused by melting of either West Antarctica or Greenland "in the near future". The judge said: "This is distinctly alarmist and part of Mr Gore's "wake-up call". He agreed that if Greenland melted it would release this amount of water - "but only after, and over, millennia"."The Armageddon scenario he predicts, insofar as it suggests that sea level rises of seven metres might occur in the immediate future, is not in line with the scientific consensus."

  2. The film claims that low-lying inhabited Pacific atolls "are being inundated because of anthropogenic global warming" but the judge ruled there was no evidence of any evacuation having yet happened.

  3. The documentary speaks of global warming "shutting down the Ocean Conveyor" - the process by which the Gulf Stream is carried over the North Atlantic to western Europe. Citing the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the judge said that it was "very unlikely" that the Ocean Conveyor, also known as the Meridional Overturning Circulation, would shut down in the future, though it might slow down.

  4. The film contends that the drying up of Lake Chad is a prime example of a catastrophic result of global warming but the judge said there was insufficient evidence, and that "it is apparently considered to be far more likely to result from other factors, such as population increase and over-grazing, and regional climate variability."

  5. Mr Gore blames Hurricane Katrina and the consequent devastation in New Orleans on global warming, but the judge ruled there was "insufficient evidence to show that".

  6. Mr Gore said that coral reefs all over the world were being bleached because of global warming and other factors. Again citing the IPCC, the judge agreed that, if temperatures were to rise by 1-3 degrees centigrade, there would be increased coral bleaching and mortality, unless the coral could adapt. However, he ruled that separating the impacts of stresses due to climate change from other stresses, such as over-fishing, and pollution was difficult. 1

An Inconvenient Truth - Gore and David Are Hypocrites Living Double Standards!

In 2006 it was revealed that Al Gore used up to "20 times" the national average on electricity and gas in his massive 20 room 9,000 square meter mansion with pool house. These statistics were gathered from the public recored but Gore's press team tried to excuse these inconvenient truths with some embarrassing blather. Fundamentally this kind of disgraceful double standard behaviour totally erodes Gore's credibility. We should be laughing at this guy not listening to him! I have never wanted to see his second film but perhaps I need to watch it for a good laugh.

The producer of An Inconvenient Truth was Laurie David, a self proclaimed environmental activist who says she became concerned about the future of the planet after she had children. Awww how sweet she wants the save the world and the children!

David travels several times a year between her houses on a private Gulf Streem jet. As one commentator put it flying commercial flights in first class is just not good enough for her. It has been estimated that one of her flights creates as greater environmental impact as driving a hummer for a year! David is quoted as saying:

"Yes, I take a private plane on holiday a couple of times a year, and I feel horribly guilty about it. I probably shouldn’t do it. But the truth is, I’m not perfect." 2

Sadly this just seems like more do what we say not what we do rhetoric!

What a joke - the hypocrisy is sickening! 😤

One that's ignored here is the one of the Manchester Canal serial killer. The death rate along the canal is far higher than anywhere else in the country (the last count I saw was >70, but there have been a few more since), with the majority of deaths all fitting a similar profile (young, male and been separated from friends), yet every one is dismissed as an accident by the police quite quickly.
It's just very unusual. Too many people are dying along the canal for it to be normal.

My father told me in the 80 and 90's tgere was a huge hype in Europe that our forests would be extinct GONE. Well they are still here and they are thriving. Nobody is saying that humans can't damage the environment but the idea that we could destroy the climate is insane. Climate change has been going on since a long time before the industrialisation. Europe was once covered by a ice cap. An argument could be made that it is factually true that Earth goes through hot and cold periods. If tomorrow we had undeniable proof that a ice age was coming wouldnt we want to heat the Earth so we could survive?

Say what you want, you have to admire Al Gore for being able to invent a problem that fit the solution he was selling, namely Carbon Credits.

Not only that, he wanted to sell the rights to something he didn't even own and which admittedly didn't reduce carbon emissions, it only made them profitable.

Genius like that doesn't come around very often.
