Confirmation bias is even worse with our human tendencies to want our thoughts and feelings validated by others in order to feel acceptance. In our always connected, personalized and curated world views (i.e. who we follow, what sources we get our information from, who we believe) it is a complete feedback loop.

That's why we are so polarized right now. When you hear or see something that contradicts what you agree with or believe to be true, you have a very visceral response in opposition.

We seem to be indoctrinating ourselves.
