My old "Skeptinazi Debate Flowchart" (the logic flow of ideologues)

in #conspiracy7 years ago (edited)

Note that this chart with only slight modification could be applied to pretty much any ideological tribalist....

Back in 2005, debates about 9/11 conspiracy theories were all the rage. This was the Myspace era, and one couldn't go find a forums room to chat about this kind of stuff without The Skeptics showing up. Note the capitalization, as that denotes a social group (tribe), not a mere position on a topic. People when in groups attach all sorts of irrational defenses and all the rest that comes with the us vs them mindset. So in no time we had "The Skeptic's", and then anyone whom doubted the official version and especially 'proper' "9/11 Truther's" were made out to be conspiracy nutters (aka "Troofers").

That was the first year I had ever gotten around to noticing this 9/11 conspiracy stuff, and in my attempts to figure any of it all out there were The Skeptics to shout everyone down. They have an interesting logic, whereas if something questions the Official Version then pretty much every time no matter what that's what they stick to scoffing at. Quite an irony given "skepticism" is to doubt.

So it didn't take me long in dealing with a small handful in particular to map their entire 'standardized' logic and debate methodology into one -not so nice- but neat flowchart.
