I touched on this in a post I made about Hollow Earth theories. A lot of Nazis were able to escape to South America in order to avoid prosecution. That is, the ones the US didn't work out a plea deal with.
Good old Operation Paperclip, the Nazi recruitment program that most people still write off as a conspiracy theory even to this day, despite the fact that is it is openly admitted to of happened. Go figure...
