I imagine he doesn't have an American cultural sensitivity growing up in the UK but it doesn't mean it isn't screwed up then he says shit like that. Maywaether should throw a potato at Connor, say he looks like a famine victim when he cuts weight, and offer him an endentured servitude contract to come over and work in the states at his compnay. I am sure sick of hearing about this fight, and fake smack talking to hype up fights in general. This shouldn't be what martial arts are about.
I would rather Mayweather didn't do that because that would make the toxicity of this promotion even worse, especially after his own homophobic comments and history of mocking people's cultures as well. You're right. This isn't what martial arts should be about, but sadly boxing has had long history of racial tension. You would think someone would try to change that instead of perpetuating it.
I would normally agree about McGregor, but his habit of doing this shows he knows what he's doing. He's promoting to a fan base that enjoys it, and with his increased financial benefits, I don't expect him to stop any time soon.
