Flood Watch Continues New Jersey Pennsylvania South Rain Moves Northward Tonight

Flood Watch Continues New Jersey Pennsylvania South

Rain Moves Northward Tonight

We are sitting solidly in clouds through dry air liles just to the north. The tropical connection from the Caribbean to the Middle Atlantic remains in tact as rain hovers just to the south of NYC & Philadelphia. The rain will begin to move northward tonight and should overspread the area overnight and through the morning hours on Saturday. Some heavier downpours are in the mix. The onshore flow is keeping things on the cool damp side with temperatures in the 50s tonight and just barely into the 60s on Saturday.

REGIONAL RADAR

For now at least the position of the rain leaves it away from us during the evening rush hour drive. Most of it is moving eastward but the northward advance should begin later this evening.

The rain gradually shifts northward later in the day Saturday and it should become more showery in nature late in the day and Saturday night. Sunday we wait for a cold front to move through. If the sun can cut through the clouds temperatures could reach into the 80s. A chance for showers and perhaps a thunderstorm will exist on Sunday.

SUNDAY FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURES

We should squeeze out a nice day on Monday with some sunshine and highs in the 70s. The flow of moisture returns on Tuesday with another warm front cold front combination approaching. There could be some scattered showers Tuesday before another cold front moves through Tuesday night. Wednesday right now looks okay with some sun and clouds and highs reaching into the 80s.
