Jitsi Meet: A Free Alternative to Skype

For years, many of us relied on Skype for small group meetings. Recently, though, Microsoft has made Skype more and more difficult to use. In my own case, it now demands some ancient Microsoft password in order to even log in — and that could wreck the little meetings I hold with a handful of people interested in renegade science topics.

I have avoided Microsoft since the 80s and 90s, when Bill Gates and his crew deliberately destroyed bright little companies like WordPerfect and Borland, and used dirty tactics to shut down IBM’s OS/2. I have no desire to go back into that world again.

That’s why Jitsi Meet looks like the cat’s meow in spades for small group conferencing.
