Windows Defender Gets Even Better With New Sandbox Feature

If you've known me long enough, you'll know how highly I think of Windows Defender. It's one of my favorite anti-viruses out there. One of the best parts about it -- it's FREE!!! And now, it's getting better!

Windows just announced that there will now be a sandbox feature with the app. For now, you must turn this feature on manually through the command line.

One of the things about the anti-virus is it's basically always run with root/administrator privileges. So, if it does get infected or compromised, that basically grants full privileges to the machine. So, this is one of the main reasons why Microsoft decided to add this new sandbox feature.

As a penetration tester, Windows Defender gives me the MOST trouble out of any of the major anti-virus software products (including Norton and McAfee). Adding this feature just makes this product get even better!
