A. WINDOWS

Microsoft Windows is a computer-based operating system GUI is the most widely used by users in the world. Beginning  of the emergence of Windows is from QDOS (Quick and Dirty Operating  System) written by TIM Paterson of Seattle Computer in 1980. Then Bill  Gates of Microsoft bought QDOS license and in 1981 renamed MS-DOS. And now the development of windows experienced a significant change from the beginning of the emergence of windows. The advantages and disadvantages are as follows:

a. Advantages

The operating system is user-friendly.
Complete hardware support, more applications for the Windows platform.
It has advanced access control settings compared to other operating  systems, because not everyone can access data freely against any  particular object.
Supports partii file system with Fomat FAT, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, also ISO9660.
Supports Encrypted File Systems (EFS). This system is used to protect the data- important data that can not be opened by other users let alone other computers.

b. Weakness

Very easy to catch a virus.
The license price is too expensive and can not be reached by the user as a whole.
There is no three-dimensional effect and has a low image resolution.

B. LINUX

Linux  was created by Linus Torvalds in 1991 in Finland, when Linus was a  computer science student at the University of Helsinki. At first Linux is still very simple and has not had the power of such a commercial UNIX that has been established. But  with the help of hackers, Linus continues to develop Linux and  ultimately possess the capabilities that can be aligned with other  commercial operating systems. Linux license is held by Linus Torvalds, in honor of his hard work developing Linux.

Linux  has a distribution that contains a collection of applications  specifically used by Linux and trying to combine it so it can be a  Linux-based operating system that is often called a Linux distro. There are several Linux distributions that have evolved namely Suse, Debian, Redhat, Ubuntu, Mandrake, Slackware, Blankon, etc. The main advantages possessed by linux is on the network system. The advantages and other advantages are as follows:

a. Advantages

A virus-resistant operating system.
Linux is very stable, making it the majority platform for internet servers, to the film industry.
Linux is very well used for networking.
Linux is a free and open operating system. So to say, there is no license fee to buy or use Linux.
Linux is a pure multiuser and multitasking operating system.

b. Weakness

There are still not many suitable software running on Linux.
Some hardware that seems hard to provide drivers for Linux.

C. MAC OS

Mac OS is the OS released by Apple Inc. for the Machintos computer system. Mac OS is popularized by its interactive and interesting Graphical User Interface. Unlike Linux, Mac OS is not open source and can only run on Apple's computer architecture. Mac  OS is divided into two categories, the first is the classic Mac OS  System that Apple released in 1984 to Mac Os 9 versions. And Mac OS X is  the latest version. The advantages and disadvantages of the Mac OS operating system is as follows:

a. Advantages

A more glossy look so good for graphics / multimedia design.
Not easily attacked by virus, Because designed by security oriented.
Has a "sherlock" program that not only searches for files on the hard disk and in the local network, but also on the Internet.
High Performance especially for MAC OS X that can to do all the things in running applications with good speed.

b. Weakness

Software for this OS is not so complete as in windows.
The price is still too expensive.
As if only intended for graphic designers.
Less suitable for server applications and games.

Oke that's all for this week thank you and see you later

good byeeeee :)
