I agree to some of this. I disagree on the 1st one. Our computer will run slowly when you open multiple application at once or using miners can slow down your computer. Meaning, there is no need for repair for this reason. If your computer is running hot, there are many possible reason for this. One is when your computer environment is really hot. You need aircon to minimized your computer temperature.
You are correct. Like I stated, there can be a variety of reasons and if someone is not sure, they should take to someone who can figure it out for them. Thanks for your comment and helping me provide clarity to this post. Followed.
My old beater is running pretty good. Well except the start switch is failing and will make me pull the case one of these days :)
It's a good check list and a way for most of us to dx before failure. Thank you for it.
@bigtom13 Well, if it is an "old beater" and the switch is the only thing failing, you may want to be on the look out for more. Just like us flesh and blood "old beaters" seems like when one things fails, others fail soon after :-) Thanks for your reading and commenting!
Yeah I agree. Many people unfortunately are scared of touching their computer beyond turning it on so they'll ultimately let the problem linger and compound.
Sometimes most of these problems can be solved with a little bit of spring cleaning to remove the dust from the chassis so the computer can actually breathe. I remember opening up a desktop for my internship once and there was so much dust that I was surprised the computer was operational for as long as it was.
Hopefully I never find one afflicted by smoking near it all the time, I heard it might even change the color of the components by coating it in a sickly yellow substance...
@cwise009 yea, they are afraid or just don't know enough to do it themselves and too cheap to take it in the a repair person. Not sure why people treat something they use everyday like it is not that important to them sometimes.
