Our Linux Consumption

imageIf you compare the different hardware or components of the Linux computer to the body, but the operating system is its life. The operating system is running the computer. Most of our computers have operating systems as well as Windows. However, many of the users will never have heard of the word Linux. Linux is also an operating system that can run the computer. But not just a computer, many of the Android-powered mobile phones, which is also a Linux. Initially, the use of Linux on mainframe computers and servers has started, but Linux is becoming increasingly popular in order to bring the lives of desktops, laptops, notebooks, mobile devices, and different types of devices.
The Linux operating system was created by Finnish citizen Linus Torvalds, 23 years ago, in 1991. Even before the Unix operating system was running, its programming signal or source code was not open. One of the biggest features of Linux is open source, which means its source code is open. Anyone who can take down this source code, can change any part of it according to its own needs (for this, must know the programming). You can also redistribute the changed source code. Linux's Linux operating system has so many distributions - such as: Arch Linux, Debian, Fedora, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, St OS, Open Suusse etc. Although there are different versions of each of these, Linux's kernel is root, meaning that the main part of the Linux operating system. The distributions are arranged by creating more useful software based on the Linux kernel.
లిలినాస్ TorvaldsWhile there was no graphical user interface (briefly gwee) in Linux. That means no instructions could be given by clicking on the image. The command line had to be done by writing different commands. That's why ordinary users used Windows on their desktop. But gradually it changes the image, especially in the last decade, Linux has become very easy. Today's Linux distributions have excellent GUI (Graphical User Interface). As a result, it is not necessary to write commands in general or daily tasks. Linux GUI is as simple as Windows.
In the mid-1990s, some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) were introduced in Bangladesh. All of them were dependent on Linux. Managing director of BDICOM Online Ltd Sumon Ahmed said, "At that time we started working in kernel 1.0. There were some books and documentation to learn, and we learned about them. UNIX was universally accepted for server work, but their prices were much higher, so we did not have the option of using Linux. "Today, ISPs are the first choice in Bangladesh, Linux. But now it can be done very easily. It could be done three or four hours before that work, that work can now be done in three to four hours. And the availability of the Internet does not have to be so fast to learn something new.
Bidilag (Bangladesh Linux User Group) was created in 1999. Through a Yahoo group there members used to help each other. Then in the beginning of the new millennium, some other organizations run Linux-based programs in Bangladesh. Among them are significant shoots. The Linux translation (localization) of Linux is very well done by them. Later, when the Bangladesh Open Source Network was formed, the localization work was very fast. Many of the country's networks are formed to popularize open source. One of their main tasks was to make Open Source popular, and to use it, the use of Linux came first. However, many open source software can be used in Windows.
Why would a common user use Linux? First of all, its use is as simple as Windows, no additional complication. And it does not buy with money. Windows is also to buy with money; Copying Windows, Microsoft does not authorize their maker. What do we usually do with computers? Internet usage, writing, accounting, presentation making, and sending messaging software are basically used. And listen to music for entertainment, watch videos and play games. For these purposes, there are open source software, which are used in Linux. They are available free of charge. Computer users attack the most affected virus. Linux does not have these problems. It is not a matter of fact that viruses are not possible in Linux, but in reality, very few people try to create viruses for Linux. So all Linux users can use their computer safely year after year. Another advantage is that Linux distributions are updated regularly. If you have an internet connection, you can always keep your Linux up to date. All current computer-related machines (such as printers, scanners, webcams etc.) can be used in Linux, without any hassle. Although there are so many benefits, Linux is less used. The reason is that most people do not know about Linux.
Although Linux is not yet popular for ordinary computer users in Bangladesh, many of the software programmers use Linux. Linux is the ideal operating system to work in open source programming languages such as C, C ++, Java, Perl, Python, PHP, Ruby etc. Large IDEs like Eclipse, NetBeans are good for Linux Apart from this, software designed for website design or web-based program such as Apache or EngineX Web server, database server, various tools, packages can be easily installed on Linux. Since most of the world's servers run in Linux, the first thing to do is to work with Linux as an operating system based on Linux.
In the very near future, when using any software without licensing in our country is totally prohibited, only after going to buy a license for the operating system and office package on government office computers, millions of taka will be released from the country. So let's just come forward and officially create a distribution of Linux. The job is not that difficult and programmers of our country can do it very well.
