I always tell anyone i encounter to pick Computer Science as their major or hobby. When in doubt, just do Computer Science and it will reward you in ways you never imagined. Below are some of the reasons you should strongly consider picking Computer Science as your major or hobby.
It's the future
Look around you. What do you see? A phone, a television set, cars riding by, automatic doors... Tell me. What do you see? Almost everything is computerized today. Try taking a trip to the mall just 5 miles away from you without a vehicle for the rest of your entire life and let's see how it goes. Try storing your food items in that room in your house without a refrigerator and let's see how fresh and edible it stays. Your local Dunkin Donuts used to keep records of all transactions in a book, now there are high tech registers to handle them. Automation is all over the place and there are even fully automated restaurants that serve you without a human. Technology is growing really fast in every area of our lives and Computer Scientists are the ones behind it. Think of the benefits technology has created already and realize the need for Computer Scientists to keep up with that.
