There is a saying that goes, never judge a book by its cover because you can get it wrong just by a mere glance of it... make sure you read it to the end
At times, we tend not to complete a story before criticising. Most people just look at the title/topic of a story and make their conclusions from there without actually dedicating time to reading the full book. Headlines can be very deceiving and most times could land us into serious trouble if we do not take time.
We get so many things wrong when we assume things, why not take your time and go through that book, page by page before boldly and confidently talk about it?*
Sometimes you think you know when you know nothing. Reading to the end gives you this extraordinary confidence and courage to talk and preach about that which you've read because you now know. Even when confrontation comes, you can defend yourself with facts and prove because you have done your assignment.
That gossip looks so interesting and convincing that you might want to fight someone thinking you know the whole gist, hold on.... take a deep breath...
Our acquaintances, friends and enemies tell us stories about things which probably they never witnessed and spice it up in such a way you have no other option left but to believe their gist; hold on and hear the full GIST from the horses mouth and I bet you, there might be a huge difference from what you heard from them and the main person.
Joining others to condemn or judge people and events you never witnessed first-hand isn't the best. If someone walks up to you to tell you of someone speaking bad about you, don't conclude immediately, take a bold step and ask they accused if he/she is guilty of that and not creating a scene or keeping malice with them without hearing from them. Do your path to know they complete story before judging. Have it at the back of your mind that, some people find pleasure in creating a rift between people and you shouldn't help them succeed.
Also, there are times you just have to let sleeping dogs lie. When you cannot get hold of the truth behind a story, there is no need stressing about it because the truth has a way of unfolding itself... Don't sweat it.

You have a minor grammatical mistake in the following sentence:
It should be people who instead of people which.I agree in a sense but we don't have time to read all the books in the world so if the sense I get from cover, from reviewers, from perusing what is writen and the way its written to get some sense etc. doesn't catch me I will put it down.
I won't criticise unless i've read it though that's unreal. on a second read your'e piece says even more than I thought which goes to prove you right. hmm
You don't have to read all the books in the world @urbanboy. I'm just encouraging everyone who wants to talk about a story to get their facts right and not assume what the book is saying. To me, it gives you confidence about what you are saying.
I have to agree with that and it's good to be reminded. Sometimes I've realised I judged things in isolation and also take things really literally when they are not meant to be.
