God's word for today: "The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love."

In wisdom are the perfections of all things, the bible presents God as the wisest in all creation: "The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.", Psalm 145:8-9.

The psalm tells us that God is slow to anger, the psalm is explaining that in God there are no passions: "God is love without passion", Thomas Aquinas.
The uniqueness of God requires that in God there are no passions, because if there were passions there would be a will for reason and another for passion; God is his own will, we cannot attribute imperfections to God: "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.", James 1:17.
God is rich in love, he adds the Psalm, but not just any love, because the love of money is the origin of sin. The love of God, also called Agape, is the love projected towards all the work of God, it is the love of animals, science, neighbor and the needy, God is a friend of men.
The letter to the Corinthians describes the love of God, the love of Charity:
"Charity is patient, charity is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self- seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs", 1 Corinthians 13:4.
God is gracious, God is a creator who forgives, who seeks the conversion of men, conversion is the passage from a life full of sins to a life of righteousness ("Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", Matthew 7:12): "Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.", Revelations 3:19-20.
