The Riedel Glasses- My Experience

A good wine glass can add value to a mediocre wine, a bad wine glass can add value to a very good wine in taste. The traditional Austrian company Riedel produces wine glasses, which are also highly praised by experts and recognised among wine connoisseurs. Riedel describes its wine glasses as "the best friend of wine". How did I come to Riedel wine glasses? Until a few years ago I drank little wine and was not very demanding. At that time, only a few wines tasted so good. Of course, the main criterion for a wine glass at that time was design. In the last few years we have made friends with some wine connoisseurs who have brought me to the taste buds. In the meantime I can enjoy a good wine very much. My favourite wines are among the white wines of Chardonnay or a Pinot Grigio and in the red wines a Cabernet Sauvignon, a noble Brunello or a Bordeaux. These wines all have a good quality, a distinctive taste and are of course not cheap. To really enjoy the taste - the bouquet - of a noble wine, you should also treat yourself to a suitable glass of wine. At different wine-tastings I could taste the difference of a wine from different glasses. That's how I found Riedel wine glasses.

Riedel is an Austrian company with a long tradition that has been producing glass for many generations. Claus Riedel was the first to discover that a wine tastes different in different glasses of different shapes. Georg Riedel, a member of the next generation, refined this knowledge and began to find the ideal glass for every grape variety. His motto was:"The content determines the form."
