What is Teh Tarik Sundays?

It is the FIRST talkshow initiated by @branlee87 and @zord189 with the support from #teammalaysia witness & lead, @bitrocker2020 exclusively for #teammalaysia members to gain exposure for their posts.

Why Teh Tarik? Because its what we Malaysians drink at a mamak stall when we hang out with friends. Here is what is going to happen on Sunday Nights :

• Everyone is invited to join the Teh Tarik voice channel on Sundays at 10:00 pm.
• Everyone is given a chance to promote a post.
• You do not need to be the author of that post as you can promote your friend's post or a very interesting post for everyone to see.
• During your sharing, the post promoted will be shared in the Kopitiam channel for everyone to see. You will also get extra exposure. Your post may even be rewarded.
• Only the Moderators and Authors are allowed to speak in the voice channel. The listeners can and should engage in the Kopitiam Text Channel.

The Malaysian Guide

Teh Tarik - Directly translates into pulled tea. It is basically 'Hot Milk Tea' and the 'tarik', which means pulled gives the top of the milk tea some foam.

Kopitiam - 'kopi' which means coffee in Malay and 'tiam' which means shop in the Hokkien language. Kopitiam will be our text channel in discord.

This week's Teh Tarik Sundays, it is my privilege and honour to be able to invite @derekrichardson & @mariannewest to our talkshow. This will be our FIRST EVER cross-country special on Teh Tarik Sundays.
Crossing Borders with @socalsteemit
The founder of @socalsteemit, @derekrichardson was graceful enough to spare his time and not to mention the earliest of mornings, 7.00am (timezone problems) to come on the show to share his journey as a Steemian and how he started the South California Team. It is an inspiration to hear how much passion and dedication he puts into building this Team. I heard he is a pretty good chef too and feeds his Team during meetups. Gosh, now I might think of migrating over :P

@derekrichardson writes mainly about his mountaineering escapades, gold prospecting adventures and a lot of outdoor-sy stuff. Living in a little town called Muscoy, South California. He enjoys the outdoors and does gardening too during his freetime.

I've know @derekrichardson from way back when we both joined the @steemitbloggers community that is founded by @jaynie. From there, our friendship grew.

Tagging along with him is also a VERY prominent Steemian and I'm sure you've heard of one of her many initiatives here is none other than @mariannewest. @mariannewest leads the San Diego County region and when she's having a little time of her own, she does her Freewrite initiative. Yes! You heard me correct, the founder of the 'Freewrite' that many of you are involved in is coming to our show.

Obviously, she had MANY fans awaiting for her arrival even before the talkshow started. Half of #teammalaysia members are part of her #freewrite initiative and it has helped many to write 'without judgement'. Much like an artist, we fear the blank canvas and would often result in having a creative block. A writer experiences the same thing and the #freewrite initiative, a lovely brainchild by @mariannewest has encouraged a lot of writers to just pen down their thoughts easily.

@alvinauh and I enjoyed every moment of the show and wished it wouldn't end because definitely there are a lot of things we can go on and on about. For example, how to pronounce @mariannewest's name. Hahaha, till this day... she is known for many names. :)

But, I would definitely love to have @derekrichardson and @mariannewest come back to our show from time to time to catch up. Who knows, in the future with this relationship formed, there are tons of opportunities to work something out together! All in good fun and friendships. That is what Teh Tarik Sundays is all about.
