It's just a 48rep not 48k steem please!

Yes please, I need to say this: I'm still a young user with barely a month experience on the steemit blockchain. I'm not smiling to to the bank just yet. In fact I'm in between a sad and straight face right now. You guys should not leave me just yet please, I still need help, a lot for that matter. I know begging is frowned upon on this platform, well, technically I'm not begging. I'm just simple clearing the air here and garnering support-- oh whatever! I don't have time to argue.

There is this assumption that when a new user has reached a certain reputation they can fend for their self. Well, that's is not always the case. Like I said in my previous post, a lot of new users do well during the first few weeks when they come on board, due to the help from some benevolent top users and their reputation receive tremendous boost. However, as @tarazkp has said several times on his posts, steem reputation is (relatively) useless (am I misquoting now?) and I agree. In fact, if it's possible, let's scrap it entirely. I will be glad.

However, some other models/alogrithims have been created or postulated to help provide a more realistic view of activities on a steemit account. This is due to the criticism of the current algorithm used in gauging an account's activities, which determines its reputation.

I recently read about User Authority (UA), an algorithm developed by @holger80 and @scipio. I'm not into tech, but from what I gathered, and I stand to be corrected, The UA is a new reputation metric that helps tackle some of the flaws of the current reputation metric which is based on upvote value, by calculating an accounts activity based on the account's followership, basically.

A more appealing model to me is @paulag's Contribution Score (SC), which values a steem account based on engagement and activity on the blockchain. There are a few theories that serve as a building block for this model, which I cannot go into now, but you can rea the full article here: STEEM Contribution Score - From Concept to Model

Now back to the issue of growth. I don't want to measure my growth based on how much I have earned only. That in itself is a shallow way of measuring growth. We all talk about value, and one way many have agreed that value can be created is via quality content. How much we give and receive in terms of feedback, to me, is(should be) a true measure of our dedication to the steemit platform. How many comments do you get per post? How many comments do you made? Asides quantity, we should also look at quality. There are a lot of things to factor.

This is where I stop today. Something just came up that has interrupted my thoughts, and I do not like leaving an article unfinished because I never go back to finish it. I believe I have established the basis of my point. This is an ongoing conversation and will continue for a while.

Please do share your thoughts in the comment section on the issue(s) raised in this post, thank you.

In my opinion the reputation score is only really useful if you see users below 25 it could be a bit of a red flag. But even then you have to kind of look to see what they've been up to and judge for yourself.

Everyone needs some help to move along! Just keep the content coming and constantly try to work on your writing skills. I try to get better with every post and still have a long way to go. Keep pushing forward my friend.

Thanks my friend. I try my best. Working on my editing which is a major problem for me. But once I get a decent phone I can use apps like grammarly to edit my articles.
