Kidnappers demand €9m in cryptocurrency for Norwegian billionaire's wife
According to Mr Brøske, the person or persons who had taken Mrs Hagen had made contact over “a digital platform” but have so far sent no proof that she remains alive.
Mr Hagen's lawyer, Svein Holden, who is known for prosecuting the far-Right terrorist Anders Breivik, called on the kidnappers to contact the family.
“The family wants to get in touch with those who have Anne-Elizabeth today. They want to get a confirmation that she is OK, and that she is alive,” he said during a press conference on Wednesday afternoon. “If she is, the family is prepared to initiate a process to get her home safely.”
He called on people in Norway to respect the family's privacy.
