GOT STUCK WITH THE "UPDATE" MESSAGE ON YOUR DEVICE?

Ledger Nano-S is a great product but I was almost getting a heart attack while updating it to their new 1.4.1 Firmware. I wasted a lot of time, but found a "fix" on Twitter (but unfortunately don't remember the name of the person who posted it) and it worked for me, so I thought I can save you (at least some PC / MAC users) from losing some of your hair.

You are already following this guide (from Ledger Wallet Official Website) to update your FIRMWARE but stuck with the screen below on your Ledger Nano-S Device? (This "error" happens in Step 5 while following LedgerWallet's official update guide)

If so, all you have to do is:

(FOR PC USERS)

• Open "Control Panel" > "Device Manager" > "Human Interface Devices"

• And see if you have a "yellow mark" on one of the drivers. If so, just update the driver (right-click on the "driver name" and select "UPDATE DRIVER SOFTWARE"). This should fix the issue.

(FOR BOTH PC / MAC USERS)

1. CLOSE "Ledger Manager"
2. UNPLUG your Ledger Nano-S Device
3. OPEN "Ledger Manager" again
4. CONNECT your Ledger Nano-S Device again WHILE HOLDING THE LEFT BUTTON and keep holding it for 5-6 seconds.
   
   You should see the screen below on your Ledger Nano-S Device:
   
   
   
5. You may release the button now.
6. When you see the "UPDATE" text once again on your Ledger Nano-S Device, wait 4-5 minutes to see if Ledger Manager displays the message "INSTALLING FIRMWARE" or not (see below)... Please be patient here for a few minutes and see if it works. If Ledger Manager does NOT display the message "INSTALLING FIRMWARE", then start again from Step-1. This should work after a few attempts.
