The Bombardment Of Haejin Has Begun

Author's note: It's possible that a good portion of the people I follow are either participating in or watching the bombardment of Haejin by fulltimegeek, his flagbot gandalfthebrown and others, including berniesanders and his crew, because the posts in my feed have come to a virtual standstill.

If so, then this post is moot as everyone will already know exactly what's going on.

However, in the event that there's something else that has everyone's attention, and because I've yet to see another post about it (oooops, one just popped in), I will chronicle here for myself (if no one else) and potentially posterity, what's taken place so far.

Downvote Waves Begin Shortly Before 8 AM PST

As promised in a post by fulltimegeek last week, he and several others have begun to flag haejin, someone many believe has been abusing the reward pool for quite some time. Aided by a whale, ranchorelaxo, haejin has been receiving between $200-$300 on average from the reward pool for each post created. With an average of ten posts a day, his rewards have totals ranging between 2-4% of the reward pool, while weekly take home has been upwards of $30,000 USD a week.

Fulltimegeek's own flagging began at 8:14 AM PST, starting with haejin posts that were closest to payment. Thanks to flags that took place last week by whale thejaholfiles, five of haejin's posts up for payment received no rewards, while fulltimegeek's flagging helped zero out another. As of now, 11 out of the next 14 posts have been nullified, with the remaining three slated to receive roughly $185 together.

Most of the rest of haejin's posts were also hit, but like the three already cited, will still receive some sort of payment unless hit some more. The amounts on those posts range between $71-$297.

Fulltimegeek's full on assault stopped at 8:43 AM PST but continued with smaller flags against haejin comments.

The main bombardment then switched to fulltimegeek's flagbot gandalfthebrown, to which fulltimegeek has delegated just over 350,000 SP. That lasted until 10:55 AM PST.

Many others have been aiding in the flagging, including berniesanders and his accounts, which includes randowhale.

As of the time of this writing, the downvoting appears to be in at least a short lull.

Haejin has also stopped posting for the time being, which is not atypical for him.

Author's note: This event is important for all users of this platform to follow, regardless of what side of the flagwar you might fall. The outcome of this organized operation, succeed, fail, or in between, will have lasting effects on how the community deals with those perceived to be abusing the reward pool.

Win, lose or draw, it behooves everyone to know what's going on so they can derive their own conclusions from the matter, as this form of bringing accounts into line may well continue if it makes haejin conform.
