If redistributing the rewards so that more people have power and become dolphins is the issue, it seems to me like it could take a lot longer for the pot to get redistributed this way. I don't know though. There have been an awful lot of changes in less than a year. That's not necessarily bad, but it doesn't give the platform a stable or inviting image.
I agree. It is a negative, almost vindictive-feeling action, and the positive, organic and flowing free market won't suffer it. That could mean that they will either shoot themselves in the foot by destroying the platform (like you hinted at) or get eaten alive by the free market and be remembered by everyone they hit with these downvotes and again, find themselves shot in the foot.
