My Application as Community Leader

I am @shortsegments and I have been active on Steemit for over two years as a content creator and content curator. I currently contribute content to the Banking and Finance Community, Steemit Explained Community, Writers Community and Flowers Pictures Community. I enjoy writing posts for the Steemit Explained Community to help out newcomers to our Steemit Community. But my primary focus is on the Community called Banking and a Finance. I am the Community leader / ADMIN for Banks and Finances, a banking, finance and investing community. It is a new Community, only one month old, but we are growing fast and quickly reached our goal of 100 members during the first month. Currently we are at 134 members.

In order to support and grow the Community I reach out and curate all posts. I leave a comment and an upvote. The size depends on the quality of the post and consistency of the author. In addition to support the members I created a Community upvote account @banking-finance. I am delegating SP to it from my personal account, so it’s upvotes can be used to support community members with rewards. I also make posts to the Community from that account to keep members up to date on the Communities progress.

In order to recruit new members I actively curate other general Communities and invite authors and curators of banking, finance and investment articles to our community members as a place dedicated to this topic or area of interest. I comment on their posts and leave upvotes.

I am planning two events this month:
First, I am planning to have recruitment contests of content curators.
Second, I am planning rewards for posting every day of the week to support members and encourage retention and participation. I plan to give an increasing prize; one Steem for the first week, two Steem for the second week, and three Steem for the third. The Contest will start in May.

In the future I plan to use Community Account earnings to hire developers to adapt decentralized applications and bring them to the Steem blockchain. I wish to contribute to growing not just the membership of the Banking and Finance Community, but the Steemit Economy as well by creating applications which increase the value of Steem. Longterm Applications which are started on Steem might also run second versions on other blockchains.
