20 steem communities to consider. Communities are super important to your success at getting stuff done around here.

Hey Again Steemitzens!

Communities are the way to individual success on the various steem platforms.

Today I'd like to take you on a tour of all the great steemit communities I participate in, where you can find me hanging around somewhere, most days, as we all carry on with our steem adventures together here on the block chain.

First off, most of these communities use a chatting app for desktops and mobile called Discord. You can get a copy at discordapp.com or just follow any discord invite link you see on any post around the steem world and you'll get right to the group who invited you, being offered a chance to download the chat app on the way there to your first visit.

Now, with the tech out of the way, where do I like to spend my time? You'll find me in the following places on discord, nearly 24 hours a day on most days. I nap ... now and then... too, of course.

The following communities are very diverse and have many different purposes.

Even further still, once you get into them, you 'll find that even within most them, they offer many different purposes, opportunities and benefits.

The opportunities and benefits of just simply networking and making new friends within these communities are tremendous.

Here I will list all the communities I participate in.

Most of them welcome anyone who fits the communities intended purpose, such as authors and editors in the Writer's Block or Dolphins in The Dolphin Cocoon, and of course the country based ones are sort of self-explanatory, but even so often welcome fans of the country or friends from other nations anyway, just because teemwork makes the steem dreem work. For example I belong to SteemPh (Philippines) and have many friends there in that group even though I live in the USA.

Here's the list with notes about the group and my supporting role in it, if any.

Note: I am not including invite links to all of these here. Some of them are public, some are exclusive and some are even private, made up of just friends and such. My goal here is to disclose, as a witness, which ones I participate in, as well as to demonstrate the sheer value and number of the communities there are out there to choose from.

All of these offer opportunities to build valuable and wonderful friendships and relationships here on the steem block chain.

The Alliance

@thealliance

A vetted membership only community focused on producing and identifying high quality content.

I support this community as a member of the core team and I am listed in the server as an Alliance witness.

@zeartul and I support each other for witness.
@suggeelson and I support each other for witness.

The Dolphin Cocoon

@thedolphincocoon

This discord is for the meat in the sandwich between minnows and whales on steemit. A place for the middle class to support each other's endeavors.

I helped build this discord for @poeticsnake, it's gracious founder and hostess. I am a listed witness and moderator in this discord community.

The Writer's Block

@thewritersblock

A place almost too amazing to describe, this community for authors, editors and related types, is a hive of energy, effectiveness and fun for those interested in the written or printed word.

I am a long time member, leant a hand early on with some server setup things, and now I just mostly muddle in their affairs and keep them on the verge of showing me the door. I love more people in this discord than about anywhere, I guess, but I suppose they just tolerate me now. ;)

I am supported for witness by many members of this group. I also vote for many other witnesses who participate in this group as well such as @swelker101, and @anarcho-andrei .

SteemitRamble

@shadowspub

Home of Pimp Your Post Thursdays, a twice-thursdays, weekly event which is growing EVER more popular with every passing week. @ShadowsPub does a fantastic job of finding and connecting people into a voice chat that has seen as many as 40 people supporting each other, meeting each other, sharing their latest posts and chatting for hours after the event ends officially each instance. Twice a day on Thursdays. Look it up!

I helped assemble part and pieces of this discord server too, and now I hold the Editor role which is like a senior mod there. I help run the PYPT events when i manage to make it on time, and often help keep the conversation going afterward for quite a while too. Deep and interesting conversations often happen. Other times, we're just laughing too hard.

SteemSpeak & GOLOS Crypto

@steemspeak

A place to join in a 24/7 voice chat with other steemitizens and discuss, well, pretty much anything, also, cryptos.

This place is famous. Everyone who is somebody passes through this community eventually.

I'm a nobody.

SteemCleaners

@steamcleaners

@patrice does an amazingly superhuman job with SteemCleaners and pretty much everyone knows who they are and who she is. The fighters of spam and pool drainers, the superheros of steem.

I support Patrice for witness, and she supports me as a witness as well. I report all the spam and stolen content I come across and support Patrice's efforts 100% in spirit. She knows if there was every anything little old me could do for her, all she has to do is send the word. I'd be at her service in two shakes of a shaking thing that can tell time.

Utopian.io

@utopian-io

Do I really need to describe Utopian.io at this point to anyone? You'd have to have been under a rock to miss news of this new steem block chain / open source world rising star.

I was a moderator at first but quickly found I wouldn't have time to serve that role with much merit, so I am not anymore. I am however, an early delegator of a modest amount by Utopian.io delegation amount standards, but even as my amount got MASSIVELY eclipsed, I still believe in the project and @elear so much and the value they bring on all the fronts they touch with Utopian. So I support it. And in turn, I get mentioned in Utopian.io posts, which is mentioned in full disclosure. Neither of us asked the other to delegate or mention, and its never been discussed between Elear and I, we just believe in supporting each other. And so we do.

SteemDevs

@steemdevs

A place for developers of all types and kinds who mess with steem stuff to knock their heads together.

I do dev things from time to time, though those times are getting rarer. @netuoso, the creator of the discord put me into the Ladies category role with @inquiringtimes as well. We like it in here. It has Ladies. We are the Ladie's men. Works for me.

SteemGigs

@steemgigs

The place to see and be seen if you have work to be done or want to do some work on a steem gig of just about every imaginable kind. Offer jobs, offer skills for sale. Make a deal. Steemgigs.

I don't get by here much anymore, as I don't really seek outside work here. I do keep it on deck should I need to hire someone for a quick project or tech task though. It's handy for that, and I believe in the leaders goals and intentions for steemgigs. I should drop by there more often, myself.

Veterans On Steemit

@chairborne
@guiltyparties
@anarcho-andrei

This one is just getting started, and I was invited by some of it's leaders. We seem to be finding each other in all the best places lately. This one is as it's named, a place for military veterans on Steemit.

I am NOT a veteran. I have not served in military service. I served in the civil service side, working many years in various roles at various places as a federal contractor. It's not the same language the vets speak, but we can order beers together anyway.

We look forward for ways to involve AND to serve Vets with the YouAreHOPE project, as there are opportunties to work for the Vets and to work with the Vets to work for others, ahead, for sure.

@guiltyparties and I support each other for witness.
@anarcho-andrei and I support each other for witness.

SteemUSA

@steemusa

Ah, home sweet home. If yer 'murican, flip a U-ey at the next light and whip on in here. #SteemUSA your place to find a place to call a place home.

I just like to play with the fireworks and eat pizza and shoot stuff. Merica, I mean, um, SteemUSA is the place for all of that, and more, including great friends, planning your US meetups, and you know, just getting the jokes about those songs and tv shows from 20 years ago.

Steemit Philippines

@steemph

What a vibrant, amazing, productive, happy, thrilled-to-be-here, exciting crowd of people. I LOVE visiting this discord community, which is a total riot of laughter going on pretty much all the time. Such a communal, friendly and welcoming place, these guys and gals are really doing it right.

They let me stay. LOL. When I arrive, I always as am met like a long lost hero. But I think I'm probably like an honorary mascot or pet dog. They let me in, but I don't know what they are saying and I just want a cookie. Which is fine, because they are always so nice to me, pet me a lot, and always seem to have a cookie for me anyway. :D

SteemitBC

@steemitbc

The Steemit Blogger Central community. This is where the seriously smart and nerdy kids are quietly having fun, crunching the numbers and communing right along at the same time. A lot of those cool data report posts you see on steemit and busy.org come from the minds of the people in this group.

I just try to understand what these geniuses are talking about, most of the time. The rest of the time, its more fun chatting with friends here, like the other discords. Sensing a theme with these communities yet? They're fun!

VO.TU Sunday Podcasts

@votu

Voice of the Underground produces a streaming steem/crypto/internet/world related podcast not to be missed. I just finally got to this discord today, so my future there is probably as verified member for now. I know pretty much everyone in the small community here, so I expect there will be joint streaming ventures or at least some show syndication onto my soon to be launched new broadcast network, but that is all future, remains to be seen stuff. Just an idea, I'd like them to see and consider ^^ hint hint :D :D

Minnow-Power/GINAbot

@ginabot (Account is not blogging while in beta, you need an invite from a friend to access this one)

Made by @neander-squirrel. GINA is the most life changing bot in the steem ecosystem, if you are also a discord user as heavily as many of us are, anyway.

This bot tells you all the activities you could want to be notified about during your steem career. The community here is mostly about help with the bot, but there are friendships to be made here too.

I use the GINAbot. I love GINAbot. Now I know what is happening on the chain as it happens to my account or those of people I whitelisted, posts, comments, replies, votes, witness votes, follows, all the "un's" of all those things too. Good stuff.

VoiceShares

@voiceshares

Home of Community Casino - Small community. Good relationships. I'm in it for the friendships, I don't get by here much though. It's a low traffic community. I should play poker more.

This group promotes my witness.

BuildAWhale

@buildawhale

Supports the bid bot called BuildAWhale. Like VoiceShares, it's a smaller community. Good relationships. I'm in it for the friendships, I don't get by here much though. I joined because I like the people who run it like @themarkymark and @nicnas

@themarkymark and I support each other for witness.

MinnowBooster

@minnowbooster

Pretty well known. Again, it offers support for various MB services but also good relationships. I'm in it for the friendships, like @reggaemuffin who is really just a cool cat.

@reggaemuffin and I support each other for witness.

PayWithSteem

@paywithsteem

Just learned about these guys. A big post is coming out tomorrow, announcing a holiday fund raising campaign with the help of Sponsor @paywithsteem ( PayWithSteem.com ) and the great dudes in charge of this steem shopping site which is a great convenience for this community

YouAreHOPE

@YouAreHOPE

YouAreHOPE brings Help, Opportunity, Purpose & Empowerment to disadvantaged people worldwide via our Agents of HOPE who deliver food, water, clothing & more with the help of our generous community & the borderless power of the STEEM cryptocurrency.

I created this foundation after some experimental campaigns with @malos10 in Venezuela, and created the discord then proceeded to do some good work in Venezuela, Nigeria, and Philippines.

Now it's filling up with so many amazing people and getting so much administrative, financial and technical support that I can't even believe it sometimes. We have done some good, and we have so much more to get done. Thank you all for supporting me and this organization and it's initiatives.

TEEM WORK MAKES THE STEEM DREEM WORK!

And with that, this post is over!

See you in the discord communities,

@SirCork

interesting list... not sure how big a lot of these groups are... i've just been treading water on steem, at least the price might be rebounding... might?

They vary in size, but also vary in scope and interest group size on the platform. ALL of them are growing though. That much is certain. Constant growth.

Thanks . I didn’t know about these. I might check out the writers group

You 'cement' good relationships in communities and there are so many to chose from @sircork nice list

Thank you Joan. So many to choose from indeed! This is hardly a complete list!

Hi @sircork, I just stopped back to let you know your post was one of my favourite reads and I included it in my Steemit Ramble. You can read what I wrote about your post here.

If you’d like to nominate someone’s post just visit the Steemit Ramble Discord

Yay thanks!

Nice wrap up, and thanks for mentioning #steemitbc

Thank you!

Thank you for the mention @sircork . We're really not all brainiacs over here. Some of us are normal, beer drinking, smart asses trying to be cool by surrounding ourselves with all the smart Steemians!

Can you explain that to me again but using smaller words please? I just come in and hang on for the ride. @paulag and her reports scare me too much to open my dumb ole redneck mouth. :)

I almost didn't but decided I probably should ;)

I'm gonna make an open Narwhals soon and finally do some talkies
the other secret ones will have to remain that way until our grand master plan is completed! (joking on that)

Never speak of our grand master plan. We don't need no competition!

I almost included narhwal, but decided not to, as it really is just friends and family, right?

Wow, know you are a busy man! but WTF! So happy that you spend so much of your time on The Block. Best wishes on the @YouAreHOPE project. Following the project and will forever have you on my Witness list... keep up the great work within the Community - we are all better for it! Keep us informed on how best to support you.

Tell your friends about all teh tings mon!

Thank you for your continuous support, but I would ask in return, you only let me know what I can do, or do better for you.

Got your hands full! Lol I'm a member of most of those up there. Met some good people.

I'm used to it. I get around ;)

G'day Mate. Thanks for posting this. When you don't have the time or depth of knowledge yet, it's great to be able see all of this useful info in one post.

Some are a bit out of my league but I'll give a few of the more general ones a go.

Enjoy the journey! Happy to have helped speed the way for you!
