I also find all the communities overwhelming. I'm gonna just swich up every post and try to post in 2 or 3 different communities a week to keep things interesting.
Hello @nikolina, I noticed you mentioned that you joined the #powerhousecreatives community. However, I don't think you are actually a member because I cannot find you on the discord.
I think you would make a great member. You can find out more about how to become an actual member in the community post here: https://steemit.com/hive-114105/@steemitbloggers/power-house-creatives-community-spotlight-25th-feb-2020
I think this might work and it's a good idea. I guess I'll go about it the same/similar way and just see how it goes.
I'm not in the Discord group, as a member of few groups and with all the communities now and possibly starting a job soon plus my hobbies, I don't think I can dedicate myself enough so I'll just stay in the PowerHouseCreatives community for now and try to find some nice posts to enjoy. :) When things settle in a little bit, I might join in.
Thank you for stopping by! :)
Haha, great. There is nothing wrong with just staying in the community. We all love engagement and there are events, etc you can join, too.
Oww you joined all those? when are you going to invite me, or teach me how to join ;)
I'm bad at explaining these type of things but here we go:
On your main page you'll find this:
After clicking on Explore communities, then you can find some communities you like and then subscribe to them:
Then you can write a post within the community by clicking on New post option below the Subsciption button.
I hope this was helpful xD
it looks like when you post in a community, it also shows in your blog, no need to resteem it ;)
You did some research, huh? :D :P
I am in the same boat. For the moment, and although I have subscribed to a couple, I will be posting from my WordPress blog using @steempress
Oh, I had no idea you can even do that so thanks for the information, even though I don't use WordPress, it's great to know it's there as an option.
Seems like a lot of people are trying to figure out how to go about communities so we're not alone. :)
WordPress is a great platform. However, to use the plugin, you do need to have a self-hosted site that uses that platform. If you'd like to find out more, do use the referral link which you'll find on any of my posts.
I guess we'll all work through all of the and good to know, as you say, we're not alone! ;)
Yeaaa I have the same problem. So many of them...
I like that some are very specific and will have only posts of one topic. Those are easier to follow and I don't necessarily have to post there, but I like to have a look around.
I guess with time it will clarify on its own which ones we use more often.
About reblogging your posts - all your posts (from communities or not) are visible in your Posts tab. Reblogging it will only create copied posts for the second time and it will show twice on your Profile (in Posts and on feed. All your followers will see your posts on their feed no matter where you post it.
Yes, I agree that the very specific communities are the easiest to follow. I also take a look every now and then to see how other people go about the communites and posting.
Thank you for the information about reblogging and posting, I really appreciate it! :)
I've already decided to just post to my blog and either just tag or ignore communities, I can't see the point of them where posting is concerned.
Useful for filtering from a reading perspective, but for posting, no gain at all as far as I can see, so I wouldn't worry about it.
Just look at them as tags, that's pretty much all they are.
Since the communities have arrived, I really wish I have only one thing or topic to post about, lol.
But that's definitely not the case so I guess the easiest/best thing would be to also post on my blog and stop "worrying" so much about the communities.
This is true!
