MASS COMMUNICATION
The word mass means a large number or quantity. Communication means transmission or exchange of ideas and information. Every day we come across newspapers, magazines and books. we read them to get new information and ideas. These things enable us to think, plan and make improvements in our lives. They provide all sorts of information relating to social, cultural and political aspects. Since ancient times written words have been the best source of exchanging ideas and information. we used to write letters in the past and we do so even today. thus the postal system had been and still is the best means of communication.

NEWSPAPER AND MAGAZINES
the newspaper and magazines can be read by literate people only The illiterate people can't read them. Other means of communication are radio and television.People are given all sorts of information news and even entertainment through these gadgets. Later on the motion picture or films broadened the vision of the cinema goers. then came the TV which played an important role in the life of every body. Side by side with the transmission of news, it proved a great source of entertainment also.

FAX AND TELEGRAM
the other means of communication had been the telegram. It continued for a long time until wireless or cable took its place. Then came teleprinter and telex. Now the most modern way of sending a message or information is fax (Facsimile). Just put the written message in your fax machine and press the fax number of the person you want to send the message to. The message is recorded and pushed out of the machine.

TELEPHONE
The best method of verbal communication has been the telephone. You dial the number and talk to the person and convey the news or message. It is done in minutes, even in seconds.

MOBILES
Newer still is the mobile phone technology. You can talk to anyone anywhere in the world on a tiny, little and handy instrument. You not only can talk but also see the picture of the person you are talking to on the screen. The other person can see your picture. isn't it wonderful!
