365 days in startup. Testimony and survival guide!

Last year I made my first exciting trip in... startup! 365 days - from December 2017 to December 2017 - during which the highlights of the news punctuated my gradual discovery of a universe apart. Excitation, doubts, surprises, surprises, learning... a full year's retrospective & sharing the lessons learned from this adventure in 20 key points!

December 1st. First day. Excitement to participate in an adventure that is just beginning! Extreme motivation, desire to learn and move mountains.

December 5th. Importer's syndrome. Discouragement in the face of the magnitude of the task at hand, the amount of information to be absorbed, extreme accountability and my lack of experience. Am I in a distant galaxy?

December 16th. Release of episode VII of Star Wars at the cinema. On my part, it is also the Return of Strength! The startup is a challenge to be met... and liftable! The hardest part is to find your organization, to move forward little by little and to make your place in a team. But it's such a challenging journey, such a fast way to gain personal and professional maturity... that the game is worth it!

Be patient with yourself

Accept criticism in an objective manner, without making the affect play.

Communicate & share your work with the team

Do not disperse: become an expert rather than an all-inclusive person

Prioritize through 80/20

Done is better than perfect. Don't get lost in the details

Question and test everything! Replace "how" with "why".

See failure as the discovery of a truth & difficulty as a challenge

Not always wanting to revolutionize everything. The simplest ideas are often the best!

Agree to delegate and trust

Structure and organization save: the "too global" quickly becomes confusing

Failing to believe everything we are told and remaining critical

Understand that copying is not cheating but being inspired

Don't believe that others are better than yourself

Blow down the torso and see far, do not reject some ideas

Being self-sufficient and able to manage on your own

But don't be afraid to ask in case of real blockage!

Do not hesitate to say no

Feeding on others, exchanging, sharing experiences

Read a lot!
