OverConfidence ...not Faith.

1 Kings 20:11b
...Let not him that girdeth on his harness boast himself as he that putteth it off.

In Matthew 26:30-35 we see an obvious example of what OverConfidence could be and mean for anyone. Confidence in itself is a very good virtue anyone should possess but when we begin to make vaain boast, we begin to fall in a snare of self destruction except we receive help.

Here there are two different things in this post; Faith and OverConfidence.
And while OverConfidence ignores that which is ordained as if it were not, Faith calls those things that be not as though they were. When God's words says; "Abstain from every appearances of evil and flee fornication, its OverConfidence and not faith that makes a brother think that he can linger in a place full of female nudity on display.your Faith cannot annul God's word. Some folks think that as new creatures 2Cor5:17 they are now super person and cant be susceptible to temptation. Driven by OverConfidence such folks through their check and balnces established in God's word off the window, No wonder they end up in such pitaible conditions like peter did after denying Jesus thrice.
Instead of praying for grace and power most times, we will be busy confessing our OverConfidence.
NOTE: The devil has been there from the very beginning, He tempted Jesus afyer fasting, jesus didnt boast or confess OverConfidence as been the son of God he simply applied Faith in tbe word of his father.
Apostle paul got it right in;
Philippians 3:12
Not as though I had already attained, f either were already perfect: but I follow g after, if that I may apprehend h that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Unlike Paul some people thinkthey have arrived over just a few acomplishment forgetting Matthew 10:22... that only thise that endure to the end shall be saved.

Folks even if at all we need too confess our confidence, let it be in the Lord and in the entirety of the word of God.
