Bat Man: Bob Kane V Bill Finger
Listening to the Kevin Smith "Fatman on Batman" Podcast - I was reminded of the story of Bob Kane and Bill Finger.
Bob Kane (long credited as the sole Batman Creator) came up with the raw concept for a character called "the Batman". However --- he was a blond gentleman in a red suit with fixed batwings and a standard hero mask.
Bill Finger - a writer - had an entirely different idea: He should be dark - and caped. He would have a cowl with the pointed ears. There would be a bat emblem on his chest.
...it is nice to see that they both agreed on a yellow utility belt...
Whether you support one or the other as the "real" creator of our beloved character (personally - I'm firmly in Team Finger) ---at least we can all enjoy the way the caped crusader has evolved over the last almost 80 years!
