Marvel Ones: Nova(Sam Alexander)
Nova(Sam Alexander) is one of my most recent favorites. I think its because i feel that He's a more relatable character than the older Nova(Richard Rider). I mean, i loved Richard Rider and him being Nova made me read more space based superheroes(Quasar, Noh-varr, Adam Warlock, GOTG), but i just love how they made NOVA, the hero who's supposed to worry about the welfare of the whole galaxy worry about maintaining good grades and going home before dinner.
Origin
While searching for his missing father, Jesse Alexander, Sam fell off his skateboard and hit his head. When he woke he discovered Gamora and Rocket Raccoon standing over his hospital bed.
They too were searching for Jesse and his Black Nova helmet. After discovering Jesse's helmet, Gamora and Rocket Raccoon began to teach Sam how to use a Nova helmet. After he learned how to use his father's helmet, he decided to pursue his fathers' legacy and become a Nova Himself.
Since Sam is still a kid, he acts and does a lot of things that a kid normally does, but when he becomes Nova, his priorities change and he becomes more concerned about the well being of others more than himself.
He never became part of the Nova Corps, because during His time as a Nova, Xandar and the Nova Corps was already destroyed.
He has been part of several superhero teams like the Avengers, New Wariors and Guardians of the Galaxy.

-energy manipulation
-stimulated telekenesis
-access to the Xandarian Worldmind(Database of the entire NOVA Corps)

This is really cool post. I ran into his character a bit in the Ms. Marvel comic. There is something about those youngsters that is very appealing and fun to read though I haven't read this comics.
Thanks for dropping by! I think its because, the writers try very hard to make the characters relatable. Nova's a great comic to pick up and read since he always has run-ins with the avengers and guardians
