Wow, what an interesting question for you to ask me lol, as I just had presented this question to the guys over at /r/comicbookcollecting/ here https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbookcollecting/comments/7qc163/golden_age_silver_age_bronze_age_copper_age_who/

Copper Age is right after Bronze, depending on who you are speaking to, the start date of Copper Age can go from 1984, 1985, 1986 to only about 91 where the Modern Age begins OR you have also some who just put Copper Age and Modern Age as the same thing and it runs until now.

What is key about 1991 that some see it as the start of the Modern Age? I think I would be tempted to say mid-80's onwards would be Modern.

I wish I knew, and actually some keep 91 as part of the Bronze Age (myself included) and that would make 1992 the start of the Modern Age. Now if that is the case, I could make the argument easily that Image Comics starting up is what flagged the Modern Age versus Copper.

If I had my druthers, everything would be done by decade and date alone, it is weird when the Ages are based on art styles and story types or things of that nature.

It's confusing but I can see why key events and trends dictate the Ages - just wish they could all agree on the dates.
