RE: X-Men '92 #1 - A Quick Look Inside

in #comics7 years ago

Very, very cool! I was really into the 90's Jubilee. You are right, one of my favorite periods for the X-Men. I remember we were all reading Wizard every month, and EVERYONE, including all of the good folks at Wizard would DREAM of an X-Men movie at the time.

I remember we would dream and dream and dream. But everyone was. Wizard was publishing the top 10 Hollywood stars for each character. Everyone would chime in and vote for who would be the best Professor X. I remember, all of us, you too probably, we all demanded that Patrick Stewart be Professor X. EVERYONE called out Hally Berry for Storm.

But it was a long ways off, there was no discussion about it in Hollywood at the time so it was just a dream.

I don't think any one of us ever expected that stuff to actually happen. It was just a dream.

So crazy to see the market stand up and demand something like that.

Oh I definitely have that same issue somewhere where I always rememberd they picked Patrick Stewart and it made so much sense it happened. Jim Lee era X-Men and Uncanny X-Men mixed with X-Factor, X-Force, and even New Mutants really defined an era of comics. It's amazing how Fox movie rights have messed things up where Marvel doesn't use mutants in the comic books as much because it doesn't help promote their own movies. Sad times.
