Lionfishman
This is Lionfishman the superhero I created for a comics contest hosted by Stan Lee Foundation (yep, the legend!) and Todd MacFarlane (cartoonist and toy designer) in the year 2011. They were in the search of the next superhero and invited comics artists to create a superhero character that could excite a global audience through the creative website Talenthouse.
Lionfishman is a character originated in a mutation caused by the bite of a radioactive lionfish. His superpowers? Distilling huge amounts of water and swimming at supersonic speeds! It defends itself with toxic fins capable of paralyzing someone. Lionfish man has an ecological role: it helps the planet save water and marine life from oil spills and radioactive waste by collecting toxic waste thrown into the sea.
The design was inspired by Pterois, a venomus marine fish native to the Indo-Pacific and commonly known as Lionfish also called Zebrafish because of its black bands, it has venomous spiky fin rays.
Unfortunately Lionfishman didn't win the contest but was featured worldwide among others awesome heroes!
