Dark Elf King Messing With Punisher's Home

Frank Castle loves and lives in New York. His birth name is Castiglione, which he owned way before anyone knew him as The Punisher. What Mr. Castle wasn't expecting was to be thrown in the middle of The War Of The Realms. This became possible once the Dark Elf King Malekith conquered nine of the ten Realms. Now, Malekith's allies have invaded New York which could prove to be a big pain for The Punisher, but also no walk in the park for the invaders.

Issue # 2 of "The War Of The Realms: The Punisher" takes place right after an innocent family experiences some fatal circumstances while Castle is battling a Frost Giant. The father was the only survivor. Taking the father to a nearby hospital, Castle meets Doctor Baldwin, who is trying to evacuate the patients to a safe area. Castle (The Punisher) agrees to help lead them through the Lincoln Tunnel into New Jersey.

Realizing that he is going to need some help to keep the patients safe, Castle rounds up a band of prisoners to assist with keeping the helpless exiles safe. They will be attacked all along the way by hideous-looking creatures. The prisoners, realizing that they are expendable in the eyes of The Punisher, start questioning as to what is going to happen with them once they reach New Jersey. This continues to happen until they finally turn on The Punisher, meaning that I have to obtain the next issue to find out where the story goes from here.

With this issue containing many panels of action, the confrontations are graphically displayed through the masterful artwork of Marcelo Ferreira. Roberto Poggi and Rachelle Rosenberg contributed ink and color, respectively. Gerry Duggan has created a story that is open to many possibilities, which keeps the reader guessing along the way. However, I think everyone knew that Ferrante was going to be trouble!
