It's from the comics plotline which Days of Future Past was based on?
DoFP happened a bit before Bishop made his way into the scene, ten years before actually (just search'ed to make sure). Bishop came about a little after Cable was out and there was a whole other time travel storyline going on where I'm sure it had a feeling of the Terminator where Bishop was coming back to the past to save the future or the X-Men or whatever. If I had the time I would completely re-read this storyline of Bishop debut'ing because I don't want to Google it all but I think i'm confusing some of his storyline with X-Cutioner's Song which came shortly after Bishop's debut. Can't wait to see all these mutant stories brought to movies with proper writers and actors in like 10 years from now when Disney get to it lol.
I don't think we will see the MCU doing anything like DoFP or Terminator. It doesn't work within the world that they created.
