Why Evil Ernie #1 is Important
Back in 1991, Eternity Comics published Evil Ernie # 1. It was written by Brian Pulido with art by the late Steven Hughes. At the time of release min sure neither of them knew the phenomenon that they had on their hands.
Not only was this the 1st Appearance of Evil Ernie himself, but also the 1st of Lady Death. Both of these characters went on to have multiple series. Lady Death is still published to this day. She is a marketing machine as she’s had action figures, posters, plenty of variants, statues, and so much more.
This book is extremely tough to find. Especially in high grade. A decent copy will set ya back around $100-$150. Not bad for what really is considered a key issue.

Ah yeah, you had me at 'Lady Death'. I'm a sucker for the 'bad girl' genre...it's so awful, but it has a certain charm all its own. Plus, Evil Ernie is just an unrepentant asshole. He's not interested in anything except violence and wrecking stuff. Brian Pulido has a lot to answer for when it comes to creating this bag of dicks. ;)
Dude, the bad girl craze was fun. It got a bit ridiculous but man I had fun. I remember when Lady Death #1 came out. So hot outta the gates. Still love that book. Beautiful chromium cover...
