Lol. I can tell you that Apple has rendered one of my old phones unusable through updates. I just don't buy their defense. Any reasonable person would choose a shorter battery life over all the bugginess .

My iPhone 6 Plus experienced much slugginess with the newer updates. But before those, it was shutting off unexpectedly while I using it. I'm not sure what was worse, probably the slowness, but I know at the time the shutdowns were not appreciated. Some kind of alert about changing the battery or a more widespread coverage of the battery issue would have been nice. I, like most people, seemed to have missed that pr piece about the change a year ago. -Snaggy
That's pretty much the exact same experience I had with my older phones. I have Iphone 6 now and its gotten a little sluggier. Hopefully the bad press and angry mob (lol at your angry mob by the way) will convince them to pass an update to make the 6 run faster.
Did you ever archive an old backup? You could probably restore it to that.
I think the real update is to get a new battery. :P
I have to convince my bro (who bought my old iPhone 6 Plus) to get a new battery and see if or how much the performance improves.
