Dunny Comics #1 - Bruce Leech
Hey guys! I've been doing these comics for a while now, most of them I've never shown anyone, but being inspired by the awesome folks of #TeamAustralia I thought I'd start chucking em up and hopefully they might give someone a laugh. Most are ideas that come to me in the spiritual peacefulness and clarity of sitting on the dunny (or toilet).
DunnyComics.com doesn't exist yet but maybe one day if I keep at it I'll have enough content to make it worth starting up or probably even just make it exclusive to Steemit.
First I started with a stock background I sourced and added a Smart Filter > Gaussian Blur. I do this so it doesn't detract from the main focus of the picture.
Here I just did a quick sketch so I had some idea of what I wanted. I didn't spend too much on this, reason being is I often over think images and the more you think the less they flow.
Here is the main blocking in of the image. Unfortunately I merged the layers (made multiple layers into 1 layer) so I can't show this in various steps.
Next I do a bit more detail and an outline to it. The shadow is cut short on the right but this is because I planned to crop it at the end.
Add some words which possibly only I find funny.... then we're done!

Hahaha that's so funny man, best comment ever! Thanks for the 1c but even more for the comment. I'm definitely one that's on Steemit for genuine reasons. Glad you liked it, I have a bunch more comics I'll post up. Feels nice to be able to post somewhere people enjoy my work (besides my Mum lol).

I love the blurred background... the photographic feel of the background really gives Bruce some realness... as real as a super suck monster can be. The inking on his kung fu suit is just so good... how does someone even know where to put all the cloth bunchings and whatnot. I love this!
Thanks @aussieninja! I couldn't wait to post this after being on Discord (though I really really really should be cleaning haha!) The greatest leap to improving art is to look at real life, that's where you can truly learn to see things as they are, such as wrinkles etc. I'm still like a yellow belt artist so still got plenty more improving to go :)

I just browsed your backlog... (I wanted to upvote everything but I still have to wait 3 days) and I loved Broforce... it's one of the few games my partner and I can play together (she can only play 2D games... going forward or backward into the screen is beyond her comprehension) and we really love it... the excessive violence, the references, the different skills of Bros. So good. No idea what level we're even up to.. just love to smash.
Can I recommend to your Towerfall Ascension for a game review? It's our favourite together game and the game that everyone who we introduce it to falls in love with. It's actually an amazing party game too.
@aussieninja Just got around to reading this comment. Yeah for sure I'll check out Towerfall Ascension. I actually just downloaded the Broforce Expendabros so I'm on a mission to do a review of that too. I swear my day only has about 18 hours cos I do so much yet still so much I want to do and can't seem to find the time to fit it all in. Broforce is so fun that it makes me wish games hadn't become so complex and huge but kept to the number one goal of gaming... to be fun!
I lol'd at your missus only playing 2D games haha. My missus plays none at all so you're lucky you have that. Mariokart 64 was the end of her gaming experience. I'll check out TA anyway and do a review of that for sure. I see it's $14.95 and god damn it I only have $13.25 left in my Steam account haha. I've added it to my Steam wishlist and will get it soon cos I'm sure my kids will get into it. :D
